Death: Symbol and Reality January 1984. Essentially this is the story of my “conversion” to being pro-life. Not that I was ever pro-abortion, One day it just hit me between the eyes, and this is that story. My teacher, mentor and friend Peter Kreeft had a wonderful policy in his classes: he would accept anything you wanted to give him as extra credit papers, and this launched one of the most creative periods of my life. All the ideas and experiences I had post-conversion came out in a flood. I actually put all those papers written for Peter into a collection entitled Passionate Theology, which I hope to post here soon.
Why Abortion is the Single Most Important Issue This was first published in The Observer of Boston College in October 1989 under the title 'Abortion: The New Civil War.' It was reprinted November 6, 1994 in The Sooner Catholic, the archdiocesan newspaper of Oklahoma City. Unfortunately in the year 2007 it is still current. )
